The website keeps running when the AI is closed. Your AI assistant helps you work on the site. Cloudflare runs it.

Q2 The stories

What happens when…

Pick a story. Each step lights up the parts involved.

    Q3 The access

What can AI do on our site?

Only what the connected account can do. Often less. Never more.

You connect your AI assistant to an EmDash account.

The assistant acts through that account. The site checks two things: what the account may do, and what the connection allows. The AI gets the overlap.

Five Q uses Claude today. Other AI apps, like ChatGPT, would get the same checks if connected the same way.

Using a shared login? The AI gets the access of that shared EmDash account, not the identity of whoever is typing.

    What else limits the tools?

The site must have the feature installed and its tools enabled. The connection can allow less access than the account has. A CMS connection does not grant GitHub or Cloudflare administration.

    What about custom code?

Custom code is a named CSS, JavaScript or HTML snippet added to every page or to chosen pages. Use it when sections and brand settings can’t do the job, like a site-wide style tweak or a verification tag.

Three things must line up: a site admin account, a connection that can write, and Five Q’s custom code switch turned on for the site. Only a Five Q account can flip that switch. When it’s off, no snippet runs and new ones can’t be saved.

Custom code goes live as soon as it’s saved. There is no draft. Check the page right after.

Examples explain the rule. Real access depends on the site’s roles, token scopes and installed tools. Publishing permission never replaces a person’s explicit approval.

    Q4 The editor

How does AI know our editor?

EmDash provides the connection. Five Q adds tools that speak the same page language as the visual editor.

    Q5 The words

    What does that word mean?

Short definitions. The technical detail is one click away.

    Sources, scope and further reading

This guide describes the Atlas-based MIP approach, checked October 29, 2026. Customized sites and older deployments can differ.

Based on the Atlas configuration and middleware, the Five Q MIP page-composer tools, the MIP launcher, and a read-only check of a live site’s authoring guidance.

Page drafts require publishing. Some settings, menus, forms and enabled custom code can affect the site as soon as they are saved. This guide is a teaching tool, not a live control panel.

    + Plain answers

Who does what, and what if…?

Four players keep your website going. Here’s each one’s job, and answers to the questions people ask most.

    Who does what

    You

    Your team

    • Decide what the site should say
    • Supply the facts and the voice
    • Review drafts and approve publishing
    • Choose who gets an account
    • Need to touch code or hosting

    Your AI assistant

    Claude today, others later

    • Reads your site and drafts changes
    • Uses only this site’s sections and tools
    • Checks its work before saving
    • Waits for your OK to publish, as Five Q’s tools tell it to
    • Get more access than its account
    • Change code, hosting or other sites

    Five Q

    Your web team

    • Builds and maintains the platform
    • Launches sites and adds new features
    • Releases and checks code changes
    • Controls the custom code switch
    • Write your content for you, unless you ask

    Cloudflare

    The hosting

    • Runs your website day and night
    • Stores page records and media files
    • Serves pages quickly with caching
    • Edit or decide your content

    Common worries

Can the AI publish without me?

Only if the connected account is allowed to publish. Five Q’s tools tell the AI to save a draft and wait for your clear OK. Want to be extra careful? Ask for drafts only, or limit the connection to reading.

Can the AI break our website?

Page changes stay drafts until someone publishes them, and every publish keeps a version you can bring back. The AI can’t change code or hosting. The things to handle with care are custom code and some settings, because they go live as soon as they’re saved.

    What if something goes wrong?

Most page mistakes take a minute to fix: bring back an earlier version, check it, publish.

What happens if I close the chat?

Nothing. The website runs on Cloudflare, not in the chat. Saved drafts stay in EmDash. Only ideas that were never saved are lost.

    Who can see our drafts?

People with an EmDash account on your site, depending on their role. Visitors only ever see published pages.

Can the AI reach other websites?

No. Each connection points to one site and acts as one account. Connecting to your site doesn’t open any other Five Q site.

Do we have to use AI at all?

No. Everything can be done in the EmDash editor by hand. AI is a helper, not a requirement.

Is our content used to train AI?

That depends on your AI app and its plan settings, not on MIP. Check the data settings of the app you use, or ask Five Q to help you look.
